Slaves set free
3/27/09

A personal letter,

(and thank you)

You never know how life will turn out. It may be many years of hardship and toil. The trials may be great, the mistakes heavy, and the dreams diminished and just when you think (like I have many times) that you’re a total failure, something will happen and God will give you comfort. Life is kind of like Paul of Tarsus who sat for years in a lonely jail cell and he would tell you that he was completely free.

We are all like the children of Israel who longed to be set free. They were held captives in a foreign land were their recompense was long hours and a feeble meal. What was surprising was their captors were confused because they multiplied so quickly even under the harshest of conditions. For the slaves it was as if there was no way out and they knew that subjugation was their daily wages. They were then literally worked to death.

God will always preserve a remnant. If you feel like an outcast and you are bombarded 24/7 with temptations, weakness, pain, suffering, ridicule, and thoughts of defeat; be encouraged. You are not alone. (Hebrews chapter 11)

A very good friend of mine who is a phenomenal success and professional coach with the Detroit Pistons called me today. This brother is an accomplished leader who has for a long time proved himself as a true coach. I have always thought about him down through the years and will never forget the times in grade school that we had. He embodies all the attributes of a professional who not only teaches people how to play the game of basketball, but coaches them on the positives of life’s choices. This is what sports should be about – the giving part mixed in with all the discipline and good work ethics. He is truly a man of God. He is also one of the most humble of people I have ever known which again I have known him since about the 2nd grade. I am honored if he calls me his friend…

Its funny how the people come and go in a person’s life and how many years later you hear from them.

I heard from another brother who sent an email today that I have not heard from in years that is another man of God. He’s about 6’7’ and 300 pounds with a crushing handshake who knows the Word of God inside and out. He was always there for me and offered words of advice. His testimony is incredible.

Somehow we always remember all the things that many years before we didn’t think much about but now become much more important. Time is valuable and even though we are all sinners we can agree with the words of Paul where he said “we see through a glass darkly”.

THE NEW BIRTH:

New wineskins (containers) require that new wine be put in them. Like Jesus said we can’t put new wine in old wine bottles (skins) since the new wine will burst the old bottles. This is truly a profound statement. It has many levels to it. It is like a matrix that keeps bringing forth new meaning from when first read. At the time he was speaking to his countrymen the Jews who received the initial message that they must be born again (as a nation) into a new “body” (wineskin).

The concept of an “abomination of desolation” where her house (Jerusalem) was “left unto her desolate” was fulfilled when they crucified him. This is exemplified as “they shall mourn for him as one mourneth for his only son”. On another level, this was God’s unfathomable wisdom that he gave his Son for us as the propitiation and redemption for our sins. When he hung on the cross and cried out “it is finished”; he secured a pathway to the Father under the covering of his own blood. The physical “old” wineskin bottle container had now become the new “spiritual” wineskin.

Luke 5:38 - But new wine must be put into new bottles; and both are preserved.

Luke 5:39 - No man also having drunk old wine straightway (soon, forthwith, immediately) desireth new; for he saith, The old is better. (this explains exactly why he was rejected)

She “physical Israel” refused to accept her King and be born again. On the personal level the old “man” is replaced with the new “man” as a new “creature”. And by the way, if you know that you are a sinner; consider yourself in good company. It is the people who don’t know, deny, or don’t care that they are sinners are the ones who are lost and in need of The Savior. They (the unsaved) may tell you this is hate speech when you reference this but in reality you are only trying to save them from “the fire”. Hell is a place where God does not reside (It is unbearable). On another note where it says in Revelation that Death and Hell followed with him (the rider of the pale horse) – Death and Hell are capitalized as proper nouns.

The Lord always preserves a remnant. The Lord was the seed that multiplied when they “thought” they had killed the son of the vineyard. That is why the Lord said in the parable that he would give the vineyard away to others… When this translation occurred, that new body of Christian believers acting as the remnant, were just a tiny mix of people that didn’t conform to the political or religious mandates of their day. They were part of the system but they were notjoinedto the system. They had truly put their wine into new wine bottles (to be preserved). The “preserved” part of this passage harmonizes beautifully with the word “remnant”. Both of these words and concepts carry the same essential meaning.

Preserved = to maintain in safety from injury, peril, or harm; protect
Remnant = a surviving trace or vestige (group of people)

AS IN THE DAYS OF NOAH (and the flood) Mat 24:37-41

37But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. 38For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,

39And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. (When the “flood” comes the object is not to be “taken away” but, to be left (or preserved) in the “ark” which is a metaphor for Christ)

40Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left. 41Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left.

DO NOT BE SURPRISED

…if in the very near future the global wholesale persecution of Christians will commence. It has already been building up for years. The question is – will a person be part of:

  •  The multitude that comes through the fire
  • Or, the remnant that is preserved (through the flood/fire)
Zechariah 13:8-9 defines this process right before the Lord comes back and his feet stand on the Mount of Olives:

8And it shall come to pass, that in all the land, saith the LORD, two parts therein shall be cut off and die; but the third shall be left therein.

9And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried: they shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is my people: and they shall say, The LORD is my God.

Constantine in the 4th century circa 325 A.D. ordered that Christianity became the “official” state religion. This set in motion an ominous trend between the joining of politics and religion (the two beasts of Revelation). Up until that time the church (small c) met in the various homes of the believers. The basic point being that the church was still de-centralized and until Constantine who issued his edicts; the Church (capital C) eventually morphed into its present centralized condition.

It must have been so much simpler in those days where pure faith was the rule of the day and not like it is now with all the brutal faithless actions of society that prevails. The blood cries out from the ground. Now, we have embryonic stem cell research which in its own dialectic is tied directly into the abortion industry…

Our hope to see us through these trying times is to remember the Holy Spirit’s words through Peter the fisherman in the book of Acts 2:17-21 where he said:

17And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:

18And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy:

19And I will shew wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke:

20The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and notable day of the Lord come:

21And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

When the children of Israel left Egypt, they were “under the blood”. This is the exact blood of the Lamb that was slain from the “foundation of the world” that they had painted on the “doorposts of their houses” (hearts). They left Egypt under much duress (tribulation) and watched God as he hardened the heart of pharaoh and issued the plagues. Revelation 18:4 talks about a second exodus when we are told not to be a partaker of “her sins” nor receive of “her plagues”. Right now the times are increasingly ripe for this to happen. The children of Israel (who had long before been re-born from Jacob as a nation) were about ready to venture off into the desert. This will happen again. Only this time the dragon (acting as a type of pharaoh) when he chases after the woman when she gave birth in the desert will cast out of his mouth a flood that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood. (again, when the “flood” comes the object is not to be “taken away” but, to be left (or preserved))

Rev 12:17 - And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments (injunction, authoritative prescription, precepts) of God, and have the testimony (record, report, witness) of Jesus Christ.

There are only two women and one choice:
  1. the symbolic woman of the “man child” who “cried, travailing in birth and pained to be delivered”...
  2. And the “other woman” who is represented by “MYSTERY BABYLON” who is a melding and blending of an idolatrous world religious system who rides the beast world system which almost everyone is in denial about that right now at this very moment is on the verge of collapse.
There will be a second exodus.

Whether this happens a day from now or in the very near future –

Are we ready?

Pls help me get this word out…

I wish to thank all the people I have personally known in life. I am truly humbled by having known all these wonderful people. I have to admit – I have made many many mistakes in life (sins) and for this I deeply regret if I have wronged or hurt anyone that may have known me. Please forgive me. Like my good friend “the coach” said: “we are all under The Blood”. I absolutely agree. Thank you, --Scott--
