Running the gauntlet
as the world fades...
Has anyone noticed how in this upside down, nobody knows, uncertain world of ours that we live in, that things (depending on where you are) are slowly or suddenly spinning out of control? It’s almost as if someone were trying to keep marbles on a table from falling off the edge.
It's a cascading effect really where uncertainty is the norm and an organized chaos reigns supreme. People are on edge and you can see it in the streets, on their faces, and can feel it in the air. As the old saying goes "its one thing right after another" is the buzz of the day.
But now all that seems unstable with the winds of the air that swirl around the events of the day. People run to and fro trying to hold on to what they have.
There are many voices all professing to know the truth. Even if someone quotes the Word they are considered harsh or if they don't quote the Word they are considered just a wind in the breeze among many. And then you have the "storm" that rages on in a persons life. It kind of gives you a sinking feeling which is by no means happenstance. It’s that quasi sick feeling that a person gets when confronted with a situation that seems to unravel out of control.
That sick feeling could be born out of pain, failure or hurt that either came from the inside or out. A disruptive feeling that unfortunately for many is their only reality. Sure, there are many voices that say that you should not trust your feelings and just go by what the Master said. This is very true indeed really because at the end of the day, it’s between you and the Maker of the universe that you live in. This fleshy tabernacle, this humble abode that we inhabit for such a short period of time will eventually wear out.
It becomes weak, feeble and prone to mistakes. It fights for its voice in a world where the competition is always fierce where only the fit seem to survive and worldly growth is considered success. But what if you're one of those who maybe didn't measure up to what the world considers success, or you have made some mistakes or you quite don't know what to do or who to listen to or what to make out of all the coming storms?
What if your every moment is filled with just trying to survive in a hostile world and fighting to make it to another day?
There was a man named John the Baptist who belonged to no formal organization who heralded the coming of the Son of God who would take away the sin of the world. He lived in the desert, had almost nothing to eat, no fancy clothes, and eventually would pay with his life for the beliefs that he held. He also had few followers.
John even said that he must decrease while his friend Lord and Savior must increase. He quoted some scripture and railed against the religious and political system of his day. They eventually cut his head off for doing it.
Jesus on the other hand came to take away the sin of the world and ushered in his kingdom which begins in the hearts and minds of men and women. He kept saying his kingdom was not of this world. He also kept saying that whosoever believed in him would never see death (i.e. eternal death). He too paid with his life to prove to mankind that God loved his creation. He also was killed by the religious and political establishment of his day. His death was painful, humiliating, and hard. His life was one of sorrows since he knew the heart of man. He still said as he hung on that cross with the nails in his hands and the thorns that pierced his head "Father, forgive them for they know not what they do".
Let that bridge between life and death back to born again life be Jesus Christ.
Let the light of Jesus rise in your heart when all the storms rage round about. Let his glorious resurrection stand as a testament that he will come back for you to make all things new. Let your communication be a testimony that you speak his language and bear his suffering while letting him live in your heart for all time, space and eternity.
Many people are trying to save their lives from the storms of the day. It can actually be kind of scary really. The answer is quite simple - we must lose our lives for Him. We must decrease and he must increase. His Spirit will be poured out in the direct measure that we pour out our lives for Him just like he poured out his life for us...
And all the voices out there trying to get it all right? --Listen to God and let love be your guide.
No matter what they say the weather will be like.

Jesus Christ is God and the Truth. Pls pass this letter on to someone who is hurting, lonely, or just needs to know the Truth (Jesus). And then have them do the same.
And may God bless you in your storms.
