Not on this earth
...but where it matters
Put to the test

Author/Editors note: This is dedicated to my friend & brother Jim McEvoy, Susan Lenox, and to all the threshers worldwide. May you find comfort in all things. And all things in Christ.

Seems in life that in our "quest to get it all right" we become somewhat sidetracked with the things of life and center in on the object of our affections whatever that may be. Obviously, we all have a love for the truth and want to follow the Lamb withersoever He goeth. All the peaks and valleys, ups and downs, dry places intermingled with some unexpected lush fields of peace.

Surprisingly, this is not to any one in particular nor is this intended to be mildly disparaging. Quite to the contrary. It's referring to all those truth seekers and kind souls out there who may feel alone sometimes and instead of "getting it all right"; they just want to have someone let them know that they are missed, cared for, and thought of often.

This is a hard road that we've all chosen. Very narrow, fraught with excruciating challenges, health woes, pressure and pain. But take heed, take heart, and know that you are not alone. You are living breathing prodigies of the Most High. A peculiar people, a holy people. A Shibboleth who can pronounce in the Spirit those deep things of God. A stream, a branch, a channel that flows into a flood.

You have put your light on top of the lamp stand for all to see and in the Spirit have pronounced your testimony even if it means to follow the Lord whithersoever he goeth and no matter what besets you in this brief interlude with the eternal, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water...

Many times all we see are some typed letters on a page that in our human way doesn't get articulated as well as planned. A name at the bottom of an email is our only point of contact. A small wisp of a person's character. A child of God is much more than that. A child of God that is brought into a peaceful awareness that goes beyond the normal din of everyday chatter that values the things of God to the point where a mere enunciation in the Spirit has life giving convictions that ripple out and affect those around them.

It really is true that we are spiritual beings having a human experience. The battle field of course is the flesh. These shell like bodies that encase us are transitory and fleeting and it's hard to put a face on things. So much chasing after the wind... So it is also with the transactions of everyday life. Especially now in these tumultuous times fraught with uncertainty and fear.

The tender of eternal "script" that is bartered in the temporal here in the form of spiritual talents is actually measured in "truth". To what extent we are to follow that truth has eternal consequences. In the eyes of the world it will alienate a true Christian, a called out Christian, a Christian who has left ALL; family, worldly friends, associations, and personal comfort to follow the Truth. You will be hated, mobbed and persecuted. But take heed even when you are put to the test that some strange thing hath overcome you but, your faith is being refined as gold and silver with your eternal salvation ever strong. Even in pain and discomfort your Lord is near. To Him be the honor glory and praise.

So it's not all the didactic verbiage that gets thrown around all the time that wins the spiritual battles nor the affiliate political or religious relationships that win the day but as the Lord says "Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts".

And that is why in the face of all tribulation we can truly rest in HIM.

Increase your spiritual talents for the kingdom of God.  But only do so if you have a sincere heart and desire to want to know the truth and follow the Lamb withersoever he goeth…

Because you are not alone. Blessings, Scott
