Discerning the times...
There has been a lot of talk about prophecy and the end times. It is actually the things that lead up to the end times that provide the milestones or benchmarks that reveal the prophecies as they unfold. Revelation means a “revealing”. As it says in Rev 1:1 “to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass”… Shortly meaning – a primary preposition denoting (fixed) position (in place, time or state). So, the inference being that if we know that these “things” have not yet happened; they are then considered future and not past or by default of the preterit (or preterist) timeframe. Servants is plural. With God time is relative.
In the common vernacular prophecy is nothing more than driving down the road and looking in the rear view mirror in order to see what lies up ahead…
Prophecy to some people is predicting the future. But, since everything that God wanted to say has already been said by God from Genesis (a beginning i.e. “In the beginning”) to the ending in Revelation (a new beginning) there are no other books, lost gospels, codices, canons, bibles or otherwise.
Everything that has been said has been said. That is why the Textus Receptus or the Majority Texts are the rule of spiritual law (from God).
That said and with that modem established; prophecy is not so much predicting as it is identifying events that fall within the timeline of futuristic events as they occur or are occurring. It is pretty safe to say for example that we are moving into a one world economy, government, and consolidated religion. Even Gordon Brown who hosted the recent G20 world leaders summit a week or so ago was efficacious in his blurting out the moniker of “the new world order”. The IMF is right now being set up to act as a centralized world banking system replete with “Special Drawing Rights” as a de facto world monetary system so that when the world economies can’t service their burgeoning debt; they then go into receivership, and the system will already be in place to bail them out (translation: enslave them). It’s no wonder the Word says: “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge:”... (Hosea 4:6).
Destroy means: to be dumb or silent; hence to fail or perish; transitively, to destroy: - cease, be cut down (off) destroy, be brought to silence, be undone.
It’s not so much that people don’t realize that these ominous trends are developing but, that they don’t quite know how to place the events in their proper context. They feel transfixed in a kind of quasi slow train wreck scenario not fully realizing that these events are prophetic trends.
These things have been predicted for many centuries afore and are now coming to the forefront. Unfortunately, most people don’t quote the other extended part of that cryptic above passage about biblical knowledge…“because thou hast rejected knowledge I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing that thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children”.
The bottom line is:
- Acquire Godly knowledge about end time events,
- Seek God through his Word,
- Spiritually come out of the world system and/or its symbiotic religious component being organized religion.
How many people out there will say: well, it’s all how you interpret it… or, “well, that’s just your interpretation”.
Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. It was inspired by the Holy Ghost (Spirit). Private means “ones own”. Interpretation means “to explain or explanation”. “For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man; but holy men of God as they were moved by the Holy Ghost”. Holy Ghost is a proper noun. 2 Pet 2:20-21. So, the end result here is not where the prophecy came from since it has been established it was by the Holy Ghost (Spirit) but, how it is received.
Rev 19:10 relates: ...worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.
Either a person will have the testimony of Jesus (or they won’t).
How many more people will be destroyed not knowing that the world is quickly sliding down the slippery slope to globalism into chaos and insanity while they sit idly by on the sidelines being mesmerized by reality shows and mindless violence on their behavior modification boxes (televisions) and don’t care or understand where the world is headed? How many more people will abrogate common sense and the calling from God to slip back into their rapidly dwindling comfort zone to delude themselves into thinking that everything will be all right while listening to highly paid preachers who represent the established corporate system cajoling them with “tickling ears” telling them what they want to hear?? How many more people fail to heed the call of God to “Come out of her” by deceiving themselves into believing that somehow their “Church” is special and will escape the judgment of a Holy and Righteous God???
…for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.
Do you have the testimony?
