True Prophets
which are YOU?
The testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy (Revelation 19:10).
True Prophets:
- Few in number; trusts only in God
- Generally disliked and not trusted
- Speaks what God says – “God says, the Bible says, thus saith the Lord…
- Gives warning of God’s judgment of all
- Works in the Holy Spirit and wields the sword of truth
- Demonstrates the Power of God and shows the Glory of God
- Socially unacceptable and does not conform
False Prophets:
- Many of them; trusts the majority opinion
- Generally liked and trusted by the people
- Speaks his or her own assumptions – “I think, I believe, it seems to me that…
- Speaks of peace and prosperity
- Uses power of suggestion or illusion; calls it signs & wonders
- Demonstrates the wisdom of men and enjoys men’s praise
- Socially acceptable and conforms to people’s expectations
