We’re all moving,
(In a direction)
Time is a capsule,
Poured out from a small bottle.
The people who get old never really get old; they just kept moving in their direction. Life is like that. Some move in one direction, others (most) move in another direction. They, being the arbiters of their own reason will say: it’s all about the power and zest for life. A popular local health provider says “live life & thrive”. Their model of invest, retire, enjoy, then becomes their raison d’être. Life is like that.
Then, there are others who watch on the wall. The wall that separates the wolves from the sheep and the vultures from the prey. Most of these people have already made their decision and their die has been cast. They are the ones who live daily with loneliness, pain, death, and despair as they sit on the wall and watch at night. But they have to finish the race, and hopefully to rejoin with the other very few who feel the same. Idiosyncrasies aside, they bond with other like minded individuals whenever and however they can.
I knew a man once who had a vision. He found himself in a valley of water. The water was waist high and moving against him. He was fighting upstream and his legs felt like lead as he tried in earnest to move forward. There was no recourse to go left or go right, only to go ahead against the tide. Behind him was something abominable. It was the essence of hatred as it hastened in pursuit of the “kill”. As it approached, the man could feel the cold wisps of its calculated hostility.
Both knew that the death knell would be sounded and the end was at hand. In utter resignation and futility the man turned around and said “do what you have to do”. The creature stood at a short distance and fired what seemed to be three fiery darts at this man who dodged them all with his upper body by swaying to the side almost as if in slow motion.
Right then at that very moment, a tall ascending ladder off to the side of this valley opened up and the man almost by spiritual instinct ran up the stairway to the top and there was a door. The door was opened and there were others to greet him. It was like a joyous homecoming; an ingathering, or long awaited reunion. It was joyous, The kind of joy that can’t be put in words. The kind of joy where everything else is but a shadow or painful reality that has been hammered into a cheap worldly copy. But it was all worth it and joy was at hand. The race had been run and the blessing had been given.
This is a true story.
The test:
We’re all being tested. We all have our directions and paths that we choose. Time really is short. One heartbeat away from eternity. There really is a flood coming. It is almost here. There are people who are saying to get into the ark of safety which is Christ. Others wish for a rebound in the economy or their stocks to come back. Others mock the people who say that now is the time to enter the ark before the door is shut.
Jesus said to build our spiritual houses on the rock of the Truth of His Word.
He also asked “whom say ye that I am? And that on this rock (of Truth) He will build His church.
And that rock was the very Christ and no other.
We are to worship the Lord God in spirit and in truth; even if it means to forsake all and follow Him withersoever He goeth (no matter what the opulent institutions say)…
So if you ever feel like you’re detached, isolated, without a home, bad health, poor finances, or no friends. Just remember – you’re not alone.
There’s a whole bunch of people who can’t wait to meet you when your race is finished.
Will you help me get this message out?
