(at least in this life)
In the dark melancholic world of our past debacles, we're reminded of our present and future. Like stratus clouds; they filter in and out of our collective conscience with arbitrary rapidity. Snippets of memories, taunting recollections, a febrific cascading...
It isn't long after the accumulation of days into transparent years
that one realizes the futility of success. Not to be confused with
increasing ones talents but rather the fateful knowledge that durst
thrust us on to the inevitable dust - for dust thou art, and unto
dust shalt thou return.
Seemingly, we never quite arrive. Whatever the attainment is, ergo
delusion, however the goals, no matter the kudos, we are in a decaying
albeit transitory and fugacious existence. Much like impertinent
weather, how can it be impertinent if it's only doing what it normally
does?
Time and circumstances then become the cause célèbre for which there
is no tomorrow in the wide array and expanse of time. Like walking
down a beach and trying to count the pebbles of sand, one becomes
overwhelmed at the futility of it all.
In the end one becomes convinced that it wasn't so much about
ourselves with our own agenda on the planet but, what we believed and
who we believed in that mattered most. Sufficient unto the day is the
evil thereof.
What can a man give in exchange for his soul? The answer is nothing.
Absolutely nothing.
We are beset with pride, unwitting participants in a myopic struggle
to survive in a world system joined with it's religious counterpart.
Even for the prevaricating atheists; they still have a core belief
structure hence religion.
The religionists likewise are complicit with their pervasive and
competing nuanced doctrines. The sad part is that almost NO ONE
realizes it. For the very few who do, it is like standing stationary
in a vortex of water watching small fish swim with the current with
all the other "school" of fishes...
Scars, sores and pain - for the ones who do detach themselves from the
hubris of this milieu, they find themselves in direct opposition to it
much like taking sides and making a stand. Of course the unseen
dynastic malignant powers that be who hold sway over the affairs of
man i.e. evil are all the not so happy. As a result in a contrarian
way they go on the offensive and will persecute you with cold systemic
malice whether overt or covert not withholding any and all foul device
of oppression.
And for the unwashed masses - well, they just proceed oblivious to
their surroundings.
The blatant irony being that instead of avoiding all this strife; is
that you create much more that haunts you in a vicious manner not
wanting to give you any quarter to rest or have peace. Life then
becomes a massive struggle just to survive day by day. Unless a person
has been actively engaged in this fight and knows the rigors of it's
unrelenting requirements; well, they'll never have a clue. Respites
are very few and far between and the survival mode intense.
Much like a kabuki dance, there is a definite ebb and flow to events.
Luke 16:19 There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in
purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day:
20 And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at
his gate, full of sores,
21 And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich
man's table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores...
The miracle of life is not so much how we are relieved of our
circumstances but rather how much we relied on, trusted in, and
believed -- the Lord Jesus Christ (even if it means to forsake all).
Have you hugged your disease lately?
